How to make Crown shaped cookies

Place the sugar and butter in a bowl and using an electric stand mixer beat until it changes color and it looks all incorporated.

Mix the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a bowl.

  •  Place butter and sugar in a bowl and use a stand mixer to beat until light in color. Add egg and milk and beat to combine. Put mixer on low speed, gradually add the flour mix, and beat until the mixture pulls away from the side of the bowl. Divide the dough in half, cover with a plastic bag, and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Sprinkle the surface where you will roll out the dough with flour or powdered sugar. Remove the dough from the refrigerator, sprinkle the rolling pin with flour, and roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thick.

  • Cut into rectangles and then start in the middle of the rectangle creating a triangle that only goes until half the length of the rectangle. From there cut another two triangles on the side just as in the photo, or you can use crown-shaped cookie cutters.
peach4
  • Grease a baking sheet with cooking oil and place the cookies shaped dough on top. Bake between 7 and 9 minutes at 375 Fahrenheit.
  • Let the cookies cold down.

Tips. My dough was a rock when I took it out of the refrigerator but as you start working with the butter starts melting and is easier to work with it.

If the Dought stars to stick place it back in the fridge for 5 minutes.

How to Decorate Crown-Shaped Cookies

Peach Princess has a crown with red and blue diamonds on it. I bought cookie icing in the color blue, red and white. For the first cookies I decorated, I just added the diamonds by using cookie icing and shaping it as a drop for each diamond. I really think that using the white icing to color the edges make the crown look cuter.

Crown cookie shape without a cookie cutter

The authentic Toadstool Cafe peach cupcakes are really easy to replicate as you do not even need a cookie cutter.

  • Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thick.
  • With a fruit knife cut the dough into rectangles of around 1 1/4 long.
peach5
  • Start on the medium part making a triangle and then from there make another two triangles on the edges.
peach7
  • Bake the cookies.
  • Once they are cold use the cookie icing to decorate.

How to color Pink Frosting

I bought already-made cream cheese frosting and used gel food coloring. Here is my favorite brand. Star by placing the white frosting on three different plates. Now you will add a few drops of food coloring to each plate and mix. Star with just 3 to 4 drops and check out if you like the color or add more coloring until achieving the right color for you.

  • For the white frosting, I am just using the store-bought cream cheese frosting.
  • For pink frosting mix the cream cheese frosting with the pink coloring.
  • For more intense pink color, you can add some extra food coloring or add a drop of red food coloring.

How to Make Princess Peach Swirl Frosting for Cupcakes and Cakes

For this Pink Swirl cupcake frosting, I used two different tones of pink and white. Swirl icing is very easy to make.

  • Fill a piping bag with each of the colors you want to use.
  • Now in a clean piping bag add a strip of each color.
  • Push the icing down and start decorating those cupcakes!

Princess Peach Cupcakes

For the cupcakes, I used a cake box mix in strawberry flavor. I will recommend better using a red velvet cake mix. The strawberry flavor wasn’t my favorite. This recipe takes some time as you need to make the cookies beforehand so I actually started a day before baking the cookies and decided to use a cake mix for the cupcakes instead of making them from scratch.

How cute are these pinky cupcakes? Princess Peach is for sure the hero along with Mario in the last super hit movie Super Mario Bros. You can’t leave Princess Peach food ideas out of your birthday party!
